Um. Just so you know, if it's possible for you to do this without Seamus discovering you, it helps to sleep in the form if you're upse distr sa you have a lot on your mind you don't want to think about. It's calming.

Anyway. It seems strange to write 'congratulations' when everyone's so gutted about what's happened, but it's brilliant that you're an animagus now. I bet your form will be real useful. Well, it has been, already.

I wish I could have come to the Headmistress' funeral.

I don't know what made the difference in the end. I mean, you know how we tried everything you and Professor Dumbledore could think of. And none of it-

I guess you were right, though, that sometimes you just have to be up against it where it's change or lose everything. It wasn't as life or death for me as it was for you, not in the moment, but it was going to get dire soon. I got my letter from the Aurors. That's what made the difference, because I have to   had to be able to before I start there.

If I thought I could get by without it before, I know better now. If you'd seen Auror Lestrange...

It was a naff funeral today. I mean, I know you probably still would've wanted to come, but you'd've hated it. I mean, first off, it wasn't just for her, you know? It was for Professor Lestrange and for Nott, too. Anywiz, Slughorn talked about the Headmistress, and it was queer what he said. He talked a lot about stuff from a long time ago. I mean, they both taught here a long time, yeah? And so he was saying how she was always so faithful to the school and to its Headmaster and that's why it was obvious after the war that she should be the next head of school. So, really, he was talking about Dumbledore, and that made everything just seem... not quite... I mean, he didn't come out and say she was a blood traitor, but I think some of them thoug... People were sort of uncomfortable about it all. You could just tell.

And then there were so many people there for Professor Raz. I think it must've been every witch he ever snogged, and they were all carrying on as if he'd married them. Daphne's mum It was just a bit much, all that. And the reporters. They weren't allowed to talk to the people they really wanted to, so they were asking anyone they could get hold of and taking pictures of everything.

I dunno. It was a mess. And no one wanted to hear about Teddy Nott and how loyal he was to Himself.

Yeah, it was okay you weren't there. And it sounds as if we'll have a memorial for her this summer. A proper one.

You're right: sometimes you really learn what you can do only when your back is up against the wall. I'm so glad you pulled it off.

I'm back at Sherwood. Well, I went back to Moddey Dhoo for the regular Sunday night supper, but now I'm at Sherwood. I...I didn't try to see Hermione or Draco while I was at 12 Grimmauld. I just wanted to be there, and to know that sh they were alive, and I wanted to guard outside their door.

But Sirius said they wanted to be by themself, so I came away.

That's a good idea, to have our own memorial for the Headmistress. And Professor Lestrange--he served the Lord Protector, I know, but it seemed he was a good friend to Harry.
